Saturday sermon: Mark 10:13-16
The modern western world's view of children as important and valuable is by no means universal. In many places now and in history, children didn't count. Into that kind of culture, Jesus spoke radical words of welcome to children. Even more wonderfully, then, if even children matter to Jesus, we can be sure that everyone matters to hum.
Raphael Duckett's sermon at St Martin's Bradley speaks to us all about the way we come to Christ like children: helpless, powerless, trusting. But he also challenges churches to welcome children in the way that Jesus welcomed children. Do we listen to them, value them, disciple them and love them?
Jesus welcomes everyone: even children; even you.
