Fellowship of Word and Spirit Conference

How God the Father doesn’t give up, Aled Seago
In the early days of Facebook, one of the options to label our ‘relationship status’ was ‘it’s complicated.’ Thinking about God as Father, we bring with us positive and negative baggage. We will be examining how God’s perfection and fatherhood brings the utmost pastoral comfort and resilience.

The unstoppable Son and the unwavering compassion of the Christ, Jason Ward
We will be looking at the mediatorial work of Christ as both a completed work and as an on-going work; asking if Jesus could have been stopped at any point, and if Satan ever did have a chance at tempting him. We will also look at the comforting doctrine of Jesus’ unstoppable prayers for his people.

The Spirit of the God who doesn’t give up, Dave Walker
How does the future look to you? When Charles Dickens conjured up the spirit of the future, he opted for a shrouded, faceless, foreboding figure. David, speaking by the Holy Spirit, spoke of being satisfied by awaking to see the face of God. In this session we will look into how the Holy Spirit can make us hopeful.

Jonah, James Hughes
Jonah is a book about persistence, responding to God’s call, trusting in God’s purposes, and about a prophet who gives up, runs away and rejects God’s plans. It is funny, provocative, even a bit subversive and we’ll see how it continues to speak to us today.

The Fellowship of Word and Spirit conference is committed to reformed theology and its application to the whole of life, and we seek to encourage and help each other wrestle with its challenges. We aim for genuine fellowship, with plenty of time for spiritual encouragement and prayer, for cultivating friendships old and new, and for resting from the usual frantic pace of ministry.

The 2026 Fellowship of Word and Spirit Conference will be held from 2nd to 4th February at Highgate House, Northampton.
